I never shared Gemma’s nursery and I’m kicking myself because it definitely doesn’t have the same feeling as it did before she was here.  Back in the summer of 2013, it was my favorite place to be.  The room held such promise and excitement and I added things to it almost daily.  I folded her little clothes and rearranged her stuffed animals a dozen times.  I stared at the crib longingly, just waiting to see a baby in there.  Flash forward almost two years, and that baby is now a wild toddler who’s almost ready to graduate to her big girl bed.  I cleaned up her toddler mess and took some pictures, just so I can remember her first room forever.

I also hope it inspires some moms-to-be!  Even though we knew she was a girl, I kept it neutral so that it was a very relaxing space.  I love pink, but I’m not wild about an all pink room and the blue has fit Gemma’s personality perfectly.  I also chose an elephant theme because Lily at the Oregon Zoo wasn’t very old when I found out I was pregnant and she made me become obsessed with the idea of an elephant nursery!

This last photo highlights some of my favorite elements in Gemma’s room.  They were all made by my dear friend Frankie at 1920 Shoppe.  She is extremely talented and we have so many pieces from her adorning our home!

I hope you enjoyed this peek into Gemma’s nursery/toddler room!
