As a photographer with a background in Early Childhood Education, I bring a unique understanding to the world of school photography. I incorporated Fine Art School Portraits into my own childcare center and it was the most anticipated day for both the parents and the children in my program. I use my extensive knowledge in the field of Early Childhood to establish true connections with children and capture genuine portraits.

My goal is to provide a custom, boutique experience to all families attending the schools who have chosen Macnab Photography to photograph their students.

My aim is to capture the essence of the children in front of the camera. I will never force a smile. No awkward poses or faces, just the authentic child. The results are genuine and timeless portraits that are far from the traditional cheesy photos we have become accustomed to with bright flashes and unflattering, busy backgrounds. I provide a light and fun experience for your children and take pride in providing an environment where the kids can relax and be themselves, naturally.

What do you offer for schools?

I photograph individual student portraits, group or class photos, and staff images. My approach is simple, natural, and designed to capture kids as they really are.

How is a Fine Art School Portrait different from traditional school photography?

Instead of stiff poses and forced smiles, these portraits are relaxed and timeless. Each child will be provided 2-5 images, presented in both color and black and white. The family may chose the photos they want printed, as opposed to having a pose chosen for them. I also provide boutique product choices such as canvas gallery wraps and digital images for future printing and archiving.

How do families get their photos?

After picture day, every family receives a private online gallery. From there, they can view the portraits and download or print their favorites. Everything is handled online for ease and convenience.

What does the school need to do?

Very little. I provide everything needed for picture day and organize the flow of sessions. Schools receive clear instructions ahead of time so the process runs smoothly.

How many students can you photograph?

I can work with schools of any size, from small preschools to large elementary campuses. We’ll plan together to make sure the schedule works well for your community.

When do you book school portraits?

I can schedule sessions throughout the school year. Many schools prefer fall, but spring or another time of year works just as well.

What do families pay?

The session itself is free for all families. They only pay if they choose to order prints or digital files. Pricing is kept simple and affordable.

Do you provide extras like class photos or yearbook images?

Yes. Class or group photos are available, and I also provide the school with any images needed for yearbooks, staff directories, or websites.
